37 wks

My 37 wk appt was very disappointing. It was last friday and i had an internal that showed no movement at all. My cervix is high & still 50% effaced. Then the most upsetting news...i had a Biophysical u/s and they both failed to practice their breathing. I had no idea this was even going to happen so i was kind of shocked. The dr said if they fail again we may have our csect earlier or that day even. Since it was a friday i had to go the next day for a repeat at the hospital. So my dh and i set off, all bags packed but really thought they would pass that day. They passed the non-stress test with flying colors. they passed the tone and movement during the u/s with flying colors. Our son passed the breathing with flying colors yay!!! but our daughter failed...she showed she was doing it for 2 secs but she needed to do it for 20. I just lost it. I really didn't think i'd be having my csect that day. I didn't think they were ready to come out and i def wasn't ready for them or surgery!! So back up to triage to wait for the dr's instructions. Thankfully she didn't think it was necessary to take them that day. She said they passed everything else with flying colors. She said she certainly could deliver them today and if i was 38wks she would have but she felt she didn't need to. So after 5hrs of being in the hospital i got to go home. She advised me to f/u with my peri on Monday. So today i called my peri and got an appt thankfully. So we'll see what he says.

Apparently it has nothing to do with lung maturity and babies only breath 50% of the time. BUT i can't help but think if it's not a huge deal why bother taking them earlier???????

So if i don't post later today that means i'll be having them and haven't had a chance to post.

Have a good day ladies~~
